Description
Hope Botanical Gardens, also known as the Royal Botanical Gardens, was founded in 1873 by Major Richard Hope and bears his name.
Situated along Old Hope Road is one of Kingston’s most impressive green spaces that’s open to the public and encompasses more than 200 acres of land designed to be admired and enjoyed.
Considered a tropical slice of paradise that offers the beauty of lush green and alluring landscape, Hope botanical Garden is one of the most popular places in Kingston whether you are a fan of photography or just want to relax in the cool outdoors with a visual delight to enchant your eyes, Hope botanical garden is one of those places to go when you are in Kingston.
With plenty of seating areas for individuals and large groups with tons of benches and gazebos. Tons of sanitizing stations and wash areas along with restrooms throughout the property.
There are many rare and beautiful species of tropical flora to be found in Hope Gardens including the Hibiscus elatus (Blue Mahoe), Jamaica’s national tree. The specificity of this tree is that during the flowering season, its blossoms change from a primrose colour in the morning to orange and deep red as the day progresses
